Short Session At Fishing Paradise

Venue: Fishing Paradise (BTP)
Time: 5.15pm-8.45pm
Bait: Bread
Rig: Apollo
Weather: Fair
Date: 24th Jan 2010 (Sun)

KTV - Dun feel like singing.
Movie - Dun have any "Must Watch" shows.
Shopping - Hmmmm....No Comment. :X
Prawning - Boring. Rather go fishing.

Since we cant decide what to do. We decided to pay Fishing Paradise another visit!

Reached the pond ard 5pm and proceed to setup quickly. It was pretty quiet for the first hour.
Got a couple of bites but sadly no hookup.

It was ard 6.05pm when I finally got to have some workout. I was on the phone when my rod gave a ugly bent!

Rushed to my rod and set the hook. The fish dashed towards the left and nearly crossed the line of another angler beside me! Upon seeing that, the angler immediately reeled in his line and told me to enjoy the fight.

Nice gesture from a nice uncle.

Took 3-4 mins before the fish decided to raise its little white flag.

Est 2kg plus Rohu

Thou the Rohu was pretty small, it definitely fight better than a Walking Catfish twice or even triple it size.

The next hookup came pretty late at ard 8.05pm. Same scenario, rod bending and line peeling like nobody biz! Grabbed the rod and set the hook a couple of time before I passed it to Cx.

Could be due to the past few weeks of "training", she required little help this time round and fight the fish in a slow and steady manner.

Took her 5-6 mins and the fishy was landed!

It was a Baby Patin est ard 4-5 kg.

Even thou it was small in size, it gave a pretty fierce fight! After it was landed, it was still flipping violently on the grass.

No more bites after this Baby Patin. Therefore we packed up and left at ard 9pm...

A Date With The Walking Catfishes

Venue: Fishing Paradise (BTP)
Time: 5pm-8pm
Bait: Bread & Hotdogs
Rig: Apollo
Weather: Hot!
Date: 23th Jan 2010 (Sat)

Paying a visit to this pond had become a weekly routine for me. It was definitely a good decision to get the fishing package as it was more flexible.

Save time and money! (Seem like I am helping them to promote their fishing package.. Haha!)

Back to the battle between the beasts and humans~

Got a hookup after 45 mins of waiting....

It gave a short powerful run once I set the hook which sent my reel screaming in pain. However, it was the only run and the rest of the fight was like fighting with a big stone.

Took me 5 mins before it finally surfaced...

A Whopping 5kg Walking Catfish!

Superwoman wants a pic with the catfish that 'walks' too!

Fight was not that fantastic but landing a fish still feel great!

Hooked another hotdog and casted to the same spot. Within 10 mins, another hookup!

This time round - Battle between the beast and the superwoman!

Judging from the fight, I knew immediately that it must be another Walking Catfish...

And.. Tadah!! I was right..Walking Catfish...

To be honest, I was pretty sian when I saw that it was another Walking Catfish... But hey!..it better than getting nothing at all right..

Our hut..

Pretty quiet after the 2nd fish.

Took another 20 mins before I finally got connected with another fishy!

After 3-4 mins of Tug-Of-War...

Another Walking Catfish...

3 Walking Catfishes landed between 5.45pm - 6.45pm using hotdogs. Registered a couple of bites after that but sadly no hookup.
Overall still a fun session landing 3 fishes in 3 hours.

A Mistake

I made a mistake today and lost a big one...sigh..

99% should be a Walking Catfish.

Lost it due to complacent and impatience. Unforgivable mistake!

Sweet Surprise

Venue: Fishing Paradise (BTP)
Time: 4pm - 9pm
Bait: Bread
Rig: Apollo
Weather: Cloudy & Windy
Date: 16th Jan 2010 (Sat)

Another satisfied day at Fishing Paradise!
My usual spot was taken up therefore we proceed to try another spot near to the MRT track.

Within 15 mins, I got a take which sent my rod bending and my reel screaming away. However before I could set the hook, the fish managed to get away.

Everything went pretty quiet for me after that. Anglers ard me managed to land a couple of fishes but still the bite rates wasn't that fantastic.

Newspaper is more interesting than fishing for her...

2 hours flew by and still I was a zerofighter. I got another take during this 2 hours but again lost it before I even had the chance to reach my rod.

By 6.30pm, we decided to have our dinner. Since the fishes do not want to eat, we eat!

After our dinner, we were still registering a zero.

Already sort of gave up when my rod gave a ugly bend at ard 7.20pm! Line was peeling out like nobody biz. Grabbed my rod and gave a firm strike! Fish ON!!!

The first run was short but strong. There was nothing I could do but hold onto my rod as my reel was screaming away. Then suddenly my line went slack....

Oh no... dun tell me I lost it.....!?!? Quickly reel back my line when it decided to went for a 2nd run. Only 2 words to describe the 2nd run. Fast and Furious!!!

My reel just kept screaming at the top of it voice while all I could do was to hold tightly onto my rod. I tried pumping my rod for a couple of times but it was way too strong....

It went dashing towards the left to the.............................SWANS!!! And then it was stuck. Tried to pump but it was stuck to something.

Proceed quickly towards the swans while trying to retrieve my line. The bugger had dashed under 2 mini boats and hide under some swans...

Took sometime to get my line free from the obstacles before I reached the swans. Slowly and steadily, I started pumping it out...

Yeah! Fishy still there....Took me another 2-3 mins before I managed to pump it out from the swans.

And guess what? A sweet surprise for me as the fishy surfaced....

It was a 10kg Chao Praya!

It was foul hooked onto it tail. No wonder, the runs was soooooo Fierce! It took me ard 15 mins to land this fish.

Some pictures of my trophy for the day!

Good Start But........

Venue: Fishing Paradise (BTP)
Time: 9pm - 4.15am
Bait: Live Tilapias(Small) & Bread
Rig: Apollo
Weather: Cool
Date: 09 Jan 2010(Sat) - 10 Jan 2010(Sun)

The scenes of my rod bending, line peeling kept appearing in my mind thru out the whole week. Unable to curb the temptation anymore, decided to go down for a night session with Joel.

Bottle Tree Park

Night Scene

Reached the pond at ard 8.15pm. Went to my usual spot to tie my rigs while observing the bite rates.
The pond was very quiet with no bites at all. Casted my bait out at 9pm and started waiting....
Within 10 mins, I was already fighting with a fishy on the other end of my line!

Took 5 mins and a Baby Mekong was landed

The boss happened to be ard and came over. He told me there was no bites at all for 2 hours and once I started fishing, I got a fish...
He even asked me for the spot where I got my fishy. Haha.......seem like I got myself a good spot.

Rebait and casted out. Sat down and within 1 min, line was peeling out and my rod was bending!
Grabbed my rod and Shoooooooooooooooot!! Fish On! Took me 3-4 mins and I landed a Patin!

(The worker told me is a Mekong.. Hmmm...???)

As I was fighting the fish, I could hear the worker saying I was pro. After the fish was landed, he even checked what bait I was using....

It was definitely a GOOD start to a fishing session but.........................no more fishes were landed for me..

I changed from breads to tilapias to target some predator fishes but no luck. Changed back to bread and changed back to tilapias but....no hookups for me at all. Sigh.. I not that pro after all. Haha..

Joel also did not managed to land any fishes at all. Sigh. It was ard 2.55am when a Walking Catfish decided to pay him a visit.

Big Fat Walking Catfish

Due to this fish, he lose the Golden Egg awards...

3am reached, we continued to fish as no one told us to stop.

10 mins later, Joel landed another Walking Catfish.

We fished till 4am before we decided to go home. I supposed we could stay till 7am but it was so quiet. No point staying on.
