Time: 9am - 5.30pm
Bait: Live Tilapias(Small) & Bread
Rig: Apollo
Weather: Cloudy, Slight drizzling in the noon
Date: 27th Dec 09(Sun)

Have always wanted to try out this pond since they opened but could not find the time. Finally, we were there on this wonderful Sunday.

Reached at ard 8.30am. Sign up as member, paid my fees and started FISHING!

Baits used for the day.

Live Tilapias(Small)

Breads

Bottle Tree Park - Fishing Paradise

I started off with the tilapias but there was no bites at all. Other anglers beside me were catching nothing too.

Chunxia getting bored

Soon it was 11am but still we did not managed to land any fish. The whole pond was pretty quiet with only one or two occasional hook ups.
Noticed one of the staffs fishing beside us landing a couple of fishes with bread. Decided to monkey see monkey do too.

At ard 11.10am, Cx went to rebait & casted out the bread. Within secs, the main line straightened and rod bend!!

Grabbed the rod, gave a strike and YES! Fish On! Passed the rod back to Cx to play.

After 2-3 mins of tug of war...

Est 700-800 grams Rohu

Thou it was not a biggie but still we were quite contended with our small catch. Morale rose and I proceed to rebait.

Casted out the bread and within 5 mins rod started to bend! Wow~
Set the hook and the fight was ON!

Took me 3-4 mins before this bugger decided to raise the white flag..

Est 1 kg plus Rohu

2 fishes within 20 mins! It definitely gave us a strong morale booster.

Waiting and waiting and......

At ard 11.30am, the staff beside us managed to hook onto another rohu. Passed the rod to CX and told us to fight the fish. Kudos to him!

Tug of war!

Cx managed to fight it to the side before the fish decided it was enough. Gave a last dash to safety and waved byebye to us.

Our lunch

We were hoping to land a few more fishes after lunch however it did not turned up the way we wanted.

There was no bites at all for us. Changed the bait to tilapia and changed to bread and changed back to tilapia but the fishes were just not opening their mouths at all.

Our neighbours were also signing up to be a member of the ZeroFighter club.

Soon 7 hours were up and while packing up the boss told us to continue. He told us to try another spot and even offered free bread for us. Wow, good customer service!

Went over to another spot and continue the waiting game.
Saw many splashes on the surface and registered a few bites but no hook up.

It was only until 4.45pm when I saw my rod nodding. Without any hesitation, grabbed my rod and gave a hard tug. Fish On!

My line was peeling out at a very fast rate when suddenly I felt nothing! OMG... dun tell me I lost the fish. I continue reeling in and felt the fish at the other end. It was swimming towards me!

Took me 5 mins before I managed to land it.
Est ard 2-3 kg Rohu!

Register another strong bite at ard 5.10pm but it managed to get away. It was definitely a biggie as my line was peeling out at a super fast rate. By the time I managed to pull out my rod and set the hook, it was already gone.

What a waste...

Managed to land one last Rohu to end the day at ard 5.30pm
Boss releasing the fish
Total catch of the day: 4 Rohu
Witnessed a redtail catfish landed while we were leaving.

Pathetic Catches Again......

Venue: Taman Jurong Main Pond
Time: 8.30am - 3pm
Bait: 200 grams Live Prawns
Rig: Floater With Split Shot
Weather: Cloudy
Date: 18th Dec (Fri)

Proceed to my old haunt hoping to fight some fearsome Kims since I am on a Mike Charlie mission.

Got lots of bites but no chance given at all. I was already using a mini float but still the fishes were not swallowing the prawns.

After a couple of bites, I managed to catch one of the culprit at ard 9am

A bright orange tilapia! (Released back into the pond)

Wtf......why got this kind of fishes in this pond. Never came across at all. Now I know why I cant hook up at all.

Those whacking my poor prawns were not Kims but tilapias!

Anyway, I managed to land my one and only Kim at ard 9.30am.

Est ard 800 grams. Notice one of the eyes was missing.... (Gave it to one malay uncle)

Got a couple more bites in the noon but no chance given at all. Guess it should be those pest fishes.

Getting a bit sian, I finished up my live prawns and went home..

One Hour One Bite One Fish

Venue: Taman Jurong Pro Pond
Time: 5pm - 6.15pm
Bait: Live Prawns
Rig: Floater With Split Shot
Weather: Cloudy
Date: 12th Dec (Sat)

It was a last minute decision for this trip. Took a cab down to Tmj for a quick fix at the pro pond.
There was no one fishing. I started first before 2 more rods joined in 10 mins later.

Bites rate were really SLOW! No bites at all for the 3 rods including mine. Was walking round and round looking for fishes when I finally broke the silence half an hour later.

Got a pathetic baby Kim est ard 500 grams. Sad to say, the fight was really boring. Took less then 5 secs to land it.

Baby Kim

Thou it was small but still better than going home with an egg. Continue for another 45 mins before I decided it was enough.

Thru out the 45 mins, it was a total silence. Not even one bite for the 3 rods.

Packed up with a balance of 2 hours left.

As for the Kim, I had wanted to put it into the green basket meant for prawning and give it to other anglers since I do not want the fish.

However, I accidentally "released" it back into the pond. LOL!

"Lok Jiak, Lok Jiak" Night

Venue: Pussy Spot
Time: 10pm - 3.30am
Bait: Kelong Sotong
Rig: Apollo
Weather: Cloudy
Date: 4th - 5th Dec 2009 (Fri -Sat)

Qw came to pick me up at ard 8.45am and off we chiong to East Coast. Met with traffic jam along AYE and reached our spot only at 10pm.

Quickly setup our rods and within 10 mins our baits were already in the sea. It has been quite sometime we were back to the wild.

Have been whacking the ponds recently and it time to stop. Lol. Anyway, I was telling Qw "I feel good" once we reached our spot. Cant explain why but I just felt that it was going to be a good night.....

No doubt, it was indeed a "GOOD" night. It was a "Lok Jiak, Lok Jiak" session. Bites were coming in constantly. Casted and within one minute my rod would start to nod. Rebaited, casted and same thing happened again.

Suspected it to be some small fishes nibbling at our bait. Changed my rigs to smaller hook and caught some culprits. Landed 2 baby eels from 10.30pm to 11.30pm. Was abit sian and dun even bother to take any pictures.

Decided it was enough and changed my rig back to bigger hooks. Was enjoying the sea breeze when my rod suddenly gave a ugly bend at ard 12am!

I was stunned and immediately jumped down from the stone bench and went for my rod which was already pulled to the ground!!!
In the process of jumping down, I rubbed the inner side of my right knee and Ouch!

The price for jumping down the stone bench. Lol.

Once I got hold of my rod, I gave a strike and felt something heavy. Was expecting it to be a great fight from the bend of my rod. However, I was wrong. There was no fight at all. Reeled in the bugger and it was a baby pussy!

Released this bugger and went back to rebait. After I casted out my bait, Qw told me he got something on the other end of his line. Slowly reeled in, no fight at all. We were thinking of a eel when it turned out to be a crab!

Flower Crab

The crab was grabbing onto the bait with it right pincer tightly. What a lucky catch! It was of edible size but we decided to release it.
I got another huge bite again at ard 1am. My rod was pulled to the ground and sprang back. However there was no hookup. It managed to get away. Suspected it to be another pussy.

As the tide started to go down at ard 1-2am, bites started to slow down. Not much action at the later part.

Was quite tired and called it a day at ard 3.30am.
