So near yet so far

Venue: Lower Seletar Reservoir
Time: 3pm - 7.30pm
Lure: Storm bait with Redtail
Weather: Thunderstorm
Date: 29th March 2009 (Sun)

Went down to LSR after my tuition and started luring at ard 3pm near the jetty. It was super hot and sunny

Saw many pple baiting and tapaoing the peacock bass home. Hmm....

Anyway was luring for abt 15 mins at the jetty before we decided to move over to the Mrt Track side.

Settled down at a spot and give my first cast. Was only cranking for less than 5 secs when BAMM!!!

I feel a super strong tug and I knew FISH ON! Was super excited and shouted over to CX to pass me the lipgrip. After ard 30 secs, I saw my first Pb. It was big at least 1kg.

Fight it near to me and came the worst scenario. It give a flip and threw the hook........

I thought I can get my first pb but well....I din managed to land it....

Wanted to cont luring when it started to rain.

Look at the dark clouds..

And then came the big rain and super strong wind.

Pack up and ran to the nearest bus stop for shelter.

It was raining cats and dogs. Lighting was sighted every min and we decided to cab back to CX hm.

On the way back to CX hm.

At ard 5.30pm, the rain had started to go away.

Taken outside Cx home.

We decided to go back to LSR for revenge.

This time round we are not so lucky. We could see puddles of waters created by fish but there is not much bite.

It was ard 6.30pm when I finally got a bite. But before I could react, it give a somersault in the air and yes throw hook again!!!! WTF!

It was huge and it is white in colour. Suspect it to be a belida.

Well guess it just not my day. Pack up at 7.30pm

This is the killer rubber that landed a KBL at prmp previously.

Will be back for LSR for revenge!!!

Reach Changi at ard 7.30pm with Joel but the rest of them are late. Therefore we proceed to Changi Pro Tackle Shop first to buy our Live Prawns.

Changi Pro Tackle Shop

They reach ard 9am and off we proceed to Ah Chong' Boat.

Ah Chong's Boat

Comparing with my past offshore boats, this boat is in very neat and clean condition.

Some views of the boat

Reach our first spot at ard 10.30am.

Joel proceed with his first cast and immediately landed his first ACK for the day. Not very big size. Estimate ard 600grams but it is a very good start already.

From 11am-2pm, Irfan landed a grouper and Joel landed another small ACK.

Was getting abit low morale as I am still a Zero Fighter.

At ard 2.30pm-3pm, Narida's friend landed 3 big ACKs on handline! Very expert indeed.
Those ACKs are at least 1kg each. I can only watch with envy. LOL

My rod that dun seem to attract any fishes

Soon it was 3.30pm. Was starting to give up when I finally feel a tug on my rod! Give a strike and FINALLY landed my first and only fish of the day. My FIRST Grouper!

Not very big, ard 500 grams but I am v satisfied liao. A new kind of fish added to my record.

From 4pm-6pm, Irfan and Nana manage to land a few more smallies. A baby grouper and 2 smallies. Seem to be Guhood? Not very sure either.

We ended the day with 10 fishes.

Itchy Night

Venue: 'G' Spot to Breakwater to Punggol End Beach
Baits: Tambans & Dead Prawns
Weather: Light Wind
Rigs: Bottom Rig & Apollo Rig
Date: 20th March 2009

Reach 'G' spot at ard 10pm plus with Joel, Serene & Jy and was welcome by a disappointed sight.
The jetty was fenced up and construction is taking place. There no way we can access to the jetty and fish.

Decided to walk to a nearby breakwater and fish first while waiting for YF.
Casted out my bottom rig with a fresh tamban and the waiting game start. Not much action except my rod did bend once but no hook on.

Ard 12am plus after YF reached, we decided to go to punggol end. Reached there at ard 2am and met up with the rest. NN,ND & fren and YS.

Casted out my tamban again but no action at all. Furthermore, it not very lasting. Everytime reel up the bait is gone. What make me more fedup is the commando trained mozzie. They are attacking us in battlion formation.

Anyway since we were already there, we just continue to fish while feeding the mozzie with our juicy blood.

There were no action at all except for Joel. He landed 2 catfish ard 4am.

The First

The Second

Quite happy for him. At least he landed something. As for me, decided to change to my killer rod & killer rig.

Setup my tackles and casted it out with dead prawns. Within 1 min, my bell rang. Killer rod is indeed killer rod. LOL. But was abit lazy and irritated by the mozzie. Took my time and when I reached my rod, the fish is gone.

Anyway managed to land 1 catfish too ard 5am.

YF managed to hook onto a decent size fish too but it manage to get away. Wasted.

Pack up at 6am and home sweet home.
