Time: 9pm - 12.30am
Rig: Apollo
Bait: Kelong Sotong
Weather: Fair
It had been only less than a week ago I wetted my lines. But guess what? I could not control my itchness at all.
In the past, I would never go fishing alone at night. But this time round, hack care liao! Packed up my stuffs and off I chiong ALONE....
Reached Area 'C' at ard 8.30pm and proceed to my usual spot.
Area 'C'
Reached my usual spot, setup my tackle and casted in my first squidy at 9pm
Bites are coming in quite constantly. But sadly all are smallies....
Tackle of the night..
As usual, it was infested by 'Xiaoqiangs.'
This bugger was whacking a cig.......
Couldn't stand those roaches and decided to move to the beach next to the breakwater..
My rod tip was vibrating every few mins but no hook up. I guessed those should be small fishes.
It was ard 10pm when finally my rod bend! Grabbed my rod and gave a strike...
Fish ON!
Could felt some pulls from the other end of the line. However as it came nearer to the beach...there was no more fight.
It turned out to be a Eel...sigh....and it caused me a rig. Could not get the hook out of it mouth at all...Zzz
Eel and Plier
Few more pics of the Eel
As I was unhooking the Eel, one chinese uncle came over and chatted with me..
Proceed to release the eel and went to have a small chat with the uncle....
I'm waiting..I'm waiting...I'm WAITING................
There was this couple doing some hanky panky on the breakwater. Lol...
(Too bad it was too dark)
Was chatting with Cx on the phone when I decided to rebait. Felt something heavy while reeling in. No fight.. No pull... No tugs...and up came 2 plastic bags.....
Do a rebait again and was chatting with Cx on the phone when my rod gave a SHARP bend!!!!
Ran over to my rod and quickly gave a STRIKE!
Felt some tugs and I knew Fish ON!!! It felt v heavy and then it got stuck..............
Tried all ways but couldn't pump it in at all.
First thing that came to my mind was........................ STINGRAY!!!
Was super excited..but no matter how I pumped... it just won't budge...
The uncle and one malay guy came over to take a look. The malay guy turned out to be the same person I met last fri..
Anyway, he came over to try to help me. But no matter how he and I pumped, the 'stingray' still did not move.
Decided to put the rod back to the sandpike and wait for the 'stingray' to 'release' itself from the seabed.
Tried all kinds of ways from 11.30pm all the way to 12.30am but still no movement. Decided to proceed up to the breakwater to try to see whether I could pump the 'stingray' up....
Was trying to reel in the 'stingray' when suddenly my line went slack. That it...!! I told myself.
Game Over...
Reeled in my line and saw this baby.
My consolation prize. A baby wild Kim.
Check my other hook and found out that the leader had burst.....
So was it really a 'Stingray' or this baby kim had hide inside some rocks that caused the burst leader.. It up to your imagination..
I decided to tapao this baby kim as it was my FIRST WILD KIM. So pls dun flame me :D
Baby Wild Kim!
