Venue: Punggol
Time: 9.30pm - 3am
Rig: Apollo with sinker and floater
Baits: Live Prawns
Weather: Cooling
Went over to sheng siong at commonwealth to get 500 grams of live prawns and off we set off for punggol.
Reached at ard 9.30pm and started wetting the line at 10pm. Setup one rod on floater and rod with sinker.
One friendly malay fisho gave us some worms and he even mentioned he got 1kg of grouper making our morale rosed.
From 10pm to 12am i saw my float sank twice but pop out immediately.
Suspect that it could be that the float i using is too big and heavy thus spooked the fish. Twice the float sink and twice the live prawns become dead prawns.
Therefore immediately change to a smaller and lighter float. However there is no more bite…
At ard 1am, i decided to rebait. Took one live prawn and when i turn over and look at my float… IT GONE!
Asked my fren and he also couldnt see it. Without hesitation, i ran over to my rod which is quite a distance away from me.
But too bad, on the way my float reappear and i know…’fish gone’.
Immediately rebait and cast to the same area. Ard 2am, i notice my float is moving strangely. 2 secs later, it dipped into the water slightly. Quickly reel in the line and STRIKE!.
Not a big decent fish but at least something….
A toadfish aka kuku fish
When i tried to unhook it, it gave a ‘Wa wa wa’ sound..
As the hook is set quite deep, i cut away the line and released it.
3am, packed up and go home
