Fishing Trip On 070608

Fishing Trip On 070608 (Sat)
Venue: Tmj
Baits: Kembong and Live Prawns
Rig: Apollo with floater & Apollo with sinker
Weather: Super Heavy Rain

Reach Tmj early like ard 8am and started fishing.
Not a very lucky day as on the way to tmj i lost my hp. Adding salt to my wounds i keep getting sangkot.

Anyway met a friendly fisho and he advise me to use kembong meat and sinker. He added that floater with live prawns dun work.
Well thinking he might be experience and friendly pressure from him, i switch to kembong meat with sinker but i only got one bite throughout the whole morning.

Ard noon when cx, jq and nix reached, i move to the centre pump and decided to change back to my floater with live prawn rigs. No take at all. Quite demoralised.

After a long wait, we finally got one bite when nix was reeling in the line. He told me got fish..i took over…and pull the line tight…a kbl jump up and say byebye to me…..

Continue story from TCX below

Made a last minute decision to go fishing on sat rather than sun. This made him very excited, and stayed awake throughout the whole night to prepare the fishing equipments. On my way there, it was raining soooooo heavily. Nevertheless, Jq & Nix were still interested to go and join us for fishing. This was Jq’s first fishing trip and Nix’s second. The catch rate was not good due to the poor weather. Beginning to feel low morale after 6 hours of the record breaking 0 catch in tmj, I used another rod illegally (FOC) Keke…. I was fishing alone at a spot far away from JH, using the new rod he bought just 2 days ago. The float was floating leisurely on the water for 5 mins…
Out of a sudden, the float turned from a "sleeping egg position into a upright position egg". I could not believe my eyes initially. I was thinking whether to shout for JH to come over to help me but I hestitated as I felt that I can handle the fish myself since I have seen him fished so many times. Therefore I decided to do it by myself. So, I used the method have been theoratically taught before-reel in the excess thread slowly and when it is straightened, give it a fast strike and yes, I felt resistence!!! I reeled and pulled, reeled and pulled and finally got it out of the water! By this time all the three of them already gathered around me and was ‘admiring’ my first fish… I was so stunned by the whole process and could not believe that I have caught the fish all by myself. The feeling of catching and fighting the fish was very shiok!!! Feeling the excitement, I continued to fish. I threw the float to the same spot where I caught my first fish. Within 10 mins, there was a big movement-my float sank down hard and appeared on the water surface 3 seconds later. But I reeled it back and discovered that 1 prawn was gone… Knowing that the fish must be still some where near, I threw the float again at the same spot. When everyone was hiding under the shelter chatting away, I noticed strange movement on my float. I quickily came out from the sheltered area so that I can have enough space to strike just in case the strange movement was due to fish. I slowly reeled in to straighten the rod and yes, the whole float disappeared!I knew that my prawn is now inside a fish’s mouth. I gave it a strike and yes, there was resistence! I reeled it in and pulled in such an unprofessional way that JH thought it was not a fish but my hook was stucked in the bottom of the pond. Nixon also commented "Bo liao, bo liao…" However, I still treated it seriously despite all those "cold comments", and haha! The result was, it was indeed a fish and a big one!!! With the help from JH, I manage to get the big fish from the water. Hehe, this was how my second fish came about. I passed the rod to Nixon to try and using the tactics he used in prawning, he caught one too! Haha… It was also the first fish in this lifetime. In conclusion, we ended the day with 3 fishes… I caught 2 fishes (1kg & 600g) and Nixon caught 1 fish (500g) It was a happy ending!!!
