My 2nd Wild Grouper!!!

Venue: East Coast (Carpark C)
Date: 10th - 11th April
Time: 12am-5.15am
Rigs: Long snood bottom feeder & Apollo Rig
Weather: Cloudy
Baits: Kelong Sotong

Recently just bought 2kg of Kelong Sotongs and decided to try it out tonight.

While waiting for Joel to come..

Met up with Joel at ard 11.15pm. To avoid midnight charges, we quickly flag down a cab and off we chiong!

Reached East Coast carpark 'C' at ard 12am and started to recee for spots.
We proceed to the nearest breakwater and immediately setup our tackles.
The tide is at it highest and this is the best time before it start to go down.

I started off with Long Snood Bottom Rig with a whole piece of Kelong Sotong. On and off could see the rod tip moving but most likely to be some crabs or small fishes.

It was ard 2am when I saw my rod performing a strong bend. Grab the rod and give a strike!
Could feel many small tugs at the other end and I knew Fish on...

However when I am pumping it in, it never struggled anymore......

It turn up to be a EEL. The eel kept winding itself ard my rig making a freaking mess.

We took quite sometime to finally settled the mess.

However, the hook have already pierce thru it throat. Could not unhook it at all.

Chance of survival is very low, therefore Joel decided to make good use of it. He cut its tail to use as bait.

Look at it eyes... going to pop out soon...

As my rig is totally ruined, I setup a apollo rig this time round.

While waiting for another fish..I took some pics.

View from the breakwater

By 5am, tide is already v low. There is still no action other than the eel.
Super bright moon and my rod

Since there is not much action and tide is against our favour, Joel and me decided to pack up at six am.

It was ard 5.10am when I spotted my rod tip bending a little. Thinking that it was again some small fishes or crabs, I din really bother abt it.

It was when Joel told me confirm Fish On! Then I realised I have hit a Fish!

He saw the rod peforming a ugly bend. Immediately ran over to my rod and give a strike!

Yes! Fish ON!!! Took abt 3 mins before I managed to pump it up to the water surface but it got stuck on some rocks with seaweeds.

No choice, told Joel to hold on to my rod. Grab my lipgrip and went down the breakwater. Slipped down while making my way down. Got many cuts on both my palms but hack care lah. Fish more impt! Haha!

After some struggling, finally a decent size Grouper!

Me and my Grouper...

Decided to pack up after landing the grouper. Left at ard 5.30am.
